Winter Has Come and So Have Crazy Pile-ups!

The icy streets with a thin film of snow wound up creating a massive pile-up of vehicles. One by one, these vehicles slid down Côte du Beaver Hall Hill toward Viger Street and collided with each other almost in perfect slow motion.
It all started with a couple of buses skidding on the icy streets into traffic waiting at a signal. Even after being cordoned off, a police vehicle and then a snow plough decided to join the party. Several witnesses have posted multiple harrowing videos online that seem to have gone wildly popular on social media.
Montreal is no stranger to icy road conditions and the city is usually on top of things. A city spokesperson stated that a mix of events and small emergencies prevented the salting trucks from arriving in the Ville Marie neighborhood. Combined with a sudden temperature drop at 8am made for an epic collision that has made headline around the world.
Thankfully no serious injuries were reported. A timely reminder of why you should definitely have winter tires if you drive in snowfall prone regions, namely Canada.
