When you are awestruck during the spectacular fireworks this Monday night, give a little thought to what all went into the show. Months of preparation - all for a mere 10 minute event, for starters.



The Grucci family of New York is handling the pyrotechnics this 4th of July in most cities across USA. More than 400 pyrotechnicians will be producing 82 fireworks performances across the country – all the way from Massachusetts to to Hawaii.



The family owned Fireworks by Grucci have been in business for the past 166 years, since 1850. Currently in their sixth-generation, the Radford Based concern has always delighted in their work. They even broke a world record for “largest fireworks display” in 2014.



As their president Phil Grucci says, "When we put on a good performance, a fantastic, well-thought-out, well-choreographed program, the show could be six-minutes long, and when the audience walks away fully entertained ... they think the show is 30 minutes."



And their work begins again soon after this Fourth of July week – gathering information from the clients about which scenes worked and which didn’t. All this goes into implementing the next years show.
