Rock Star Gives Koko the Gorilla Some Lessons!
Koko the gorilla and Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea teamed up in an adorable video. The Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist gave a music lesson to the 45-year-old Koko this weekend.
"This is just the greatest thing that could ever happen. This is the day that I will never forget in my life," Flea says on the Red Hot Chili Peppers' YouTube.
"One of Koko's favorite musicians, Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers came to visit," the Gorilla Foundation wrote on their website. "Koko was thrilled by the mellow sounds and a jamming session followed with Koko strumming on Flea's bass!"
Koko did most of the jamming, as Flea chilled out and marveled at the encounter. The 53-year-old musician posted photos and videos with his new friend to social media. "My sweet and true friend Koko rocks a flea bass like it ain't nuthin."
45 year old Koko, the female western lowland gorilla is famous for communicating via American Sign Language (ASL) as well as her dexterity and intelligence. Flea, née Michael Peter Balzary, is a founding member of the funk rock pioneers the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Well he knows where to look if and when he decides to form a new band!
