R.I.P Anton Yelchin - Latest to Join the '27 Club'
The well liked and talented youngster was the latest to join the so called "27 club" which includes a number of other famous faces.
In retrospective, the first one to die at 27 was Brian Jones, guitarist for the Rolling Stones. He drowned in his pool back in 1969.
He was soon joined by guitar god Jimi Hendrix who died in 1970 after binging on drinks and drugs.
They were soon joined iin a few months by singer Janis Joplin (heroin overdose) and The Doors frontman Jim Morrison, found dead in a bathtub in Paris from heart failure.
Of late a few prominent musicians including Amy Winehouse (2011) and Kurt Cobain (1994) have also died aged 27. All these have gone on to be described as being part of the so-called '27 club'.
Though the club members are almost exclusively musicians, they all share a common train with Yelchin. All of them passed away at the height of their popularity in an unexpected and tragic manner.
Their untimely deaths force us to look at their work with a new perspective. And all of them are, without exception truly brilliant, bordering on perfection. Yelchin too will be similarly remembered - with sadness.
