Australia Wants to Elect a Gorilla as Prime Minister
The killing of Harambe the gorilla at the Cincinnati Zoo last month had sparked inter-national outcry - more so in Austrailia. Harambe, once a nobody has since become a globally recognized phenomenon. Now the official candidates in Australia's federal election are feeling the heat.
Social media posts suggest that most are unwilling to choose either incumbent PM Malcolm Turnbull or opposition leader Bill Shorten. Many are tweeting and sharing about him and urge others to vote for the 'gorilla who died' in the 2016 federal election.
Australian voters are widely lacking enthusiasm in national politics having had 5 PM's in as many years. It seems Aussies feel that the government should have done more, and now are voting for his corpse.
