A 3D Printed Office in just Two Weeks!

3D printing technology continues to spread in leaps and bounds throughout the world. The latest phenomenon is the 3D printing of concrete which is seen as the next big thing in construction industry.

Now those plans have borne fruition with a 3D printed office building, called the ‘Office of the Future’ in Dubai, the city-state in the United Arab Emirates. It’s the world’s first 3D printed building and was constructed in just 17 days!

The first ever 3D printed model construction in Dubai makes use of Chinese company WinSun’s tilt-up technology. It enables architects and builders to embark on complex construction designs with ease.

The floor, walls and ceiling are all 3D printed. The modules were then cut in half for ease in shipping and reassembled on site.

The printer should ideally be located at the job site in Dubai, but was built and operated at WinSun’s factory in China.

Just watch it all in motion below. Quite impressive.

This building won’t necessarily be used for regular office work, but used as a meeting space for parties from all over the world. Dubai has implemented a multi-tiered strategy that utilizes 3D printing to enhance their construction sector, consumer and medical products.
