Video: Deadly Snake on a Plane

This cheesy movie concept just became true. A snake, believed to be a venomous green viper, stowed itself away in the overhead baggage compartment of an Aeromexico flight. Even though there was no macho Hollywood hero to the rescue, the passengers themselves took care of the unwelcome visitor.

Indalecio Medina, a passenger on Sunday's Flight 231 from Torreon to Mexico City, posted this video showing the snake, falling onto some seats while the plane was in flight.

He said he captured the snake in a blanket and "gave it some magazines to read."

Although the green, slithering serpent did not launch an attack on any of the passengers, it certainly gave them a fright.

It was supposed to be a regular 2-hour, daily flight between the two cities. However, this particular flight was given landing priority upon arrival in Mexico City. Animal control took over the scene to secure the reptile safely.

Luckily, no passengers reported any injuries from the incident. However, the airline says it’s investigating how the snake got into the airplane and is ensuring that it will never happen again.
