This Piece of Junk Was Sold For a Fortune!

This 1955 Porsche 356 Speedster "developed ugly noises" back in 1974 and was parked in a California barn and there it remained, forgotten. When eventually discovered after 41 years, it easily found a new owner who knew its true worth.

A collectible, the Speedster is believed to be No. 212 of 1,700 built in 1955.

The series was originally created for the U.S. market at the behest of famed car importer Max Hoffman.

The 356 Speedster with its chopped windscreen, Spartan trimmings, and low price quickly became a favorite of Porsche fans around the world.

The bidding on eBay was fierce for this classic car, and the rusted-out remains finally sold for more than $152,700.

The buyer has a lot of work ahead and might be able to restore the vehicle for about $200,000.

The restored car is estimated to be worth $400,000, but the price for the collectible could go up to half a million within a couple of years. Talk about finding treasure amongst junk!
