Schools Out! These 7 Siblings are Now Raring To Go!

18 years ago in 1997, the McCaugheys of Iowa made headlines when they became the world's first surviving set of septuplets in the world. One injection of the fertility drug Metrodin was all it took for the  parents Bobbi and Kenny McCaughey to become pregnant with seven babies.

Reportedly the first surviving septuplets in the world, they were born nine weeks premature and weighed about 1 to 1.5 kilos each. Their birth ignited a national debate about fertility treatment.

Two of the children - Alexis and Nathan were born with forms of cerebral palsy, but are now reportedly doing well after surgery and subsequent therapy. The family struggled to make ends meet and had to save a lot to cover medical bills and in some cases equipment like braces for some of the children.

They were helped out by gifts and donations from companies and strangers which included free university education, a sizeable home and a van. They even got to meet the president and Oprah hosted the family on her show - twice!

In 1998 !

And again in 2014

Now 18 years later, they have graduated from high school. Alexis, Brandon, Joel, Kelsey, Kenny, Natalie and Nathan McCaughey all received their diplomas from Carlisle High School in Iowa on Sunday.

Now they are ready go their separate ways that include the college, the work force and military. Their life till now has been amazing, and their experience so far will hold them good in the coming years!
