Look Out! Snakes Are Out to Get You
Nothing could beat the horror of watching this baby iguana being attacked by multiple snakes. BBC's second edition of Planet Earth showed baby iguanas fleeing a terrifying army of racer snakes in HD footage as it played on millions of homes. It was the opening episode of its series, "Islands."
The tiny marine iguanas are trying to make their way to the water. However, the racer snakes lay waiting for the chance at this feeding, the most abundant opportunity they have to eat for a while.
Rather than a coordinated attack, the clip shows a number of snakes acting individually, on instinct. You cannot help but root for the little fellow going all out to survive, as it manages to escape multiple times.
Sadly he falls prey in the end. Though the scene was shot at the Galapagos Islands, we all might better watch out.
Originally, the film crew was too shocked to film. Even the famous host, David Attenborough, felt the same. It was something none of them had ever seen before. Although it was a terrifying moment for viewers, it gives us a look at nature like we have never experienced before.
What with ginormous snakes falling onto our heads, there seems to be an apocalypse in the making.
